Resuscitation Australia’s Instructor Accreditation Program (IAP) offers participants an exceptional training experience, overseen by Lead Educator, Professor Hugh Grantham ASM MBBS FRACGP, and an experienced Faculty of Instructor Development Coaches, all of whom are experienced Resuscitation Australia Accredited Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructors.
The IAP is delivered in person across two consecutive face-to-face course days, followed by two Instructor Candidate placement on Resuscitation Australia ALS courses (either ALS1 or ALS2, depending on the level of certification you hold).
Tailored for healthcare professionals, this comprehensive course equips you with the knowledge, skills, and accreditation needed to teach ALS1 and ALS2 courses, as developed by Resuscitation Australia for facilitation by its network of Accredited Course Centres.
Pre-requisite to enrol in the IAP:
- Please carefully review Resuscitation Australia’s IAP Participant Suitability Policy.
- At the heart of the policy is a simple idea: before investing in the IAP, take an honest look at whether it’s the right fit for you right now. We call this the ‘Fit Check’ Five; all ‘Fit Check’ elements must be fulfilled at the time of enrolment in order to satisfy the policy requirements.
What you’ll learn:
- Explore Resuscitation Australia’s cutting-edge educational methodology which has been expertly tailored to adult learners and is delivered in a blended learning forma, consistent with ANZCOR Guideline 10.2 – Advanced Life Support (ALS) Training.
- Gain insights into cognitive load theory, memory retention techniques and how to support ALS course participants to develop both confidence and competence as they complete their ALS training.
- Master assessment strategies and effective feedback delivery through hands-on, wholly practical skills-based ALS training days.
Continuous assessment:
- All candidate scenarios are provided in advance with your IAP Participant Guide, so you have time to prepare and excellent advance insight into the structure and format of the IAP Course Days.
- Receive ongoing feedback from our experienced Faculty of Instructor Development Coaches, who are consistently described as supportive and engaging.
- Interact with fellow IAP participants as you progress through practical stations and are supportively assessed to guide your development.
Resuscitation Australia’s IAP is approved for 32 hours of CPD by ACRRM and CICM.
We’re offering IAP courses Australia-wide. Please note not all private IAP course dates are publicly listed. If your hospital or health service organisation would like to book a private IAP, please contact us.
