Resuscitation Australia’s Instructor Migration Course (IMC) is designed for existing Instructors accredited by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) who wish to facilitate our mixed-mode Advanced Life Support (ALS) courses in Australia and internationally.
The IMC is provided free of charge by Resuscitation Australia for migrating instructors affiliated with an existing Accredited Course Centre, or who are public health sector employees registering with their .gov.au email address. A credentialling (administration) fee applies in all other cases.
For detailed information on the IMC, please download the Course Overview.

Course Structure
The IMC is a fully digitised course offering. Seven self-paced eLearning modules give you the flexibility to progress through the course when it suits your schedule, and from a location of your choice. It will take you approximately 90 minutes to complete the IMC.
Upon completion, you will be invited to submit your Existing ARC ALS Instructor: Accreditation Application Form, should you wish to do so, and pay the associated Instructor Credentialing Fee, unless you are working for an existing Resuscitation Australia Accredited Course Centre or are a public health sector employee using a .gov.au email address.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible to complete the IMC, participants must fulfil the following pre-requisites:
- You hold current Instructor accreditation with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).
- You hold a current ALS1 or ALS2 certification issued by either Resuscitation Australia or the ARC. Please note, your level of Instructor accreditation issued by Resuscitation
- Australia will reflect the level of ALS certification you currently hold.
For example, an Instructor holding an ALS1 credential will only be eligible to teach on ALS1 courses, while those with ALS2 credentials will be qualified to instruct on both ALS1 and ALS2 courses.
Please refer p. 4 of the Course Overview for further information about eligibility and additional considerations.

This fee waiver reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the public health sector and the vital network of Advanced Life Support instructors who operate within it.
Public health employees who have attended an Instructor Migration Session or completed the Instructor Migration Course and are seeking to complete their Migrating Instructor Form are encouraged to do so using their official .gov.au email address. Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there no cost to enrol in the IMC? Are there other charges payable?
As a social enterprise, accessibility is a core premise of Resuscitation Australia’s approach to resuscitation education. Our mission is to expand access to high-quality, evidence-based training while maintaining a sustainable model that supports continued investment in educational innovation, instructor development, and the advancement of resuscitation practice across Australia.
Offering the IMC at no cost enables experienced ARC Instructors to become familiar with the Resuscitation Australia mixed-mode ALS training model. The course introduces instructors to our blended learning philosophy, assessment framework, and educational standards for the delivery of Resuscitation Australia’s ALS courses.
The IMC provides instructors with an overview of the Resuscitation Australia education framework and enables them to determine whether they wish to pursue formal instructor credentialing within the Resuscitation Australia system.
Completion of the IMC does not in itself confer instructor accreditation, for which a credentialing (administration) fee applies, except for instructors affiliated with a Resuscitation Australia Accredited Course Centre and public health sector employees.
We feel this is a fairer model because it means we don’t charge a credentialing fee in the event you do not wish to pursue accreditation.
If you access the IMC and opt not to submit your Instructor Accreditation Application Form, no charge is payable; that is, access to the IMC is provided free of charge.
Existing ARC ALS Instructors who wish to obtain formal recognition as a Resuscitation Australia Accredited Instructor may proceed by submitting the Instructor Accreditation Application Form at the conclusion of the IMC, together with the required supporting documentation.
Upon submission of the application, if you have not used a .gov.au email address or specified which existing Accredited Course Centre you are affiliated, an Instructor Credentialing Fee applies. This fee supports the professional and administrative processes required to verify instructor eligibility and credential instructors within the Resuscitation Australia training network.
Instructor credentialing is available as either:
Annual Instructor Credential — $145 (including GST)
Four-Year Instructor Credential — $395 (including GST)
