Resuscitation Australia publishes ANZCOR Compliance Statement and Register

At Resuscitation Australia, our mission is to advance high-quality, evidence-based resuscitation education that supports safe, effective emergency care for patients nationwide, in accordance with Australian and New Zealand Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR) recommendations.

This involves auditing our courses against ANZCOR Guidelines and actively maintaining them as recommendations evolve. With this in mind, we are pleased to release our latest ANZCOR Compliance Statement and ANZCOR Compliance Register for our Advanced Life Support (ALS) courses. Together, these documents explain not only what our courses teach, but how they are designed, delivered, assessed, governed, and maintained in alignment with current ANZCOR Guidelines.

The ANZCOR Compliance Statement

ANZCOR Guideline 10.2 sets the standard for how ALS education should be designed and delivered, inclusive of educational approaches and learning methodologies. The Compliance Statement explains how our ALS courses align with these requirements, covering who our training is for, what it includes, how it is delivered, how long the courses are, how competence is assessed, what equipment and resources are used, how the courses are governed and maintained, and how we develop our Instructor faculty through the Instructor Accreditation Program.

This Statement reflects our commitment to maintaining educational quality through evidence-based design and delivery.

The ANZCOR Compliance Register

In support of the Statement, we’ve also developed an ANZCOR Compliance Register. This resource maps each course to ANZCOR’s adult ALS Guidelines and recommendations from basic life support (Guidelines 2–8) to education and implementation (the Guideline 10 series), and adult ALS (the Guideline 11 series). Course eLearning modules, in-person workshops and simulations, assessments, and outcomes are captured in this register, providing a transparent record of where to access ANZCOR-aligned information, skills, and behaviours deemed as best practice in the Australian healthcare sector.

Courses That Keep Pace

ANZCOR Guidelines are updated as resuscitation evidence evolves, and our courses are actively maintained in line with those updates. When ANZCOR publishes an update, our clinical educators review the update against our course content. When we edit content, we log it, ensuring the trail from Guideline change to course revision is always visible, and clearly documented in our Compliance Register.

This cadence speaks to our Maintenance Standard Operating Procedure more broadly: at Resuscitation Australia, we value the collaborative nature of this sector, analysing all participant and stakeholder feedback as part of a monthly maintenance rhythm. While data and feedback are collected and analysed on a continuous basis, our clinical education team advises on edits where participant and stakeholder commentary aligns with ANZCOR recommendations and/or good practice statements.

Read the full Compliance Statement and Register for details on our alignment to current ANZCOR Guidelines. We will gladly answer questions about our ANZCOR Compliance status and/or maintenance rhythms. Simply contact us at coordinator@resuscitationaustralia.com.au.
