Navigating Connected Healthcare

Thanks to Red Hat for hosting us at a roundtable discussion on Navigating Connected Healthcare: Strategies for Better Health and Public Outcomes. In today’s interconnected world, both healthcare and service sectors face the challenge of rethinking unified data exchange strategies to drive industry progress and improve outcomes. For Resuscitation Australia, this is of particular relevance in the context of embedding clinical evaluation opportunities which meaningfully follow Advanced Life Support course participants into their workplaces and enable real time reporting on the clinical application of trained skills and competencies.

In clinical environments, including hospital-based Course Centres, we are also working closely with healthcare providers to better harness relevant data to refine and improve the resuscitation education and training resources we develop, to ensure they are evidence-based and fit-for-purpose. Balancing data management considerations with the potential for better patient and constituent outcomes is crucial and Resuscitation Australia is working at the cutting edge to deliver truly efficient, cost-effective services with scalability across the ecosystem.

This roundtable provided us with the opportunity to engage with representatives from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, Ramsay Health Care, the Australian Medical Council, Painaustralia, Aspen Medical, the Department of Health and Aged Care, Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Orion Health and the ACT Emergency Services Agency, who shared strategies for initiating responsive, agile services within regulatory compliance and safety constraints.

Resuscitation Australia reiterates its commitment to fostering collaboration and alignment within the resuscitation training and education sector, including between Resuscitation Australia accredited entities, to ensure the development and implementation of standardised data exchange protocols is effective and ensures best-practice outcomes. Thanks again to Red Hat for providing us with the opportunity to connect with others as we continue our work to increase the availability of highly responsive, agile and clinically relevant Advanced Life Support training in Australia and abroad.
