As part of our ongoing commitment to developing innovative, high-quality resuscitation education and training resources for experienced clinicians, Resuscitation Australia is proud to announce that our new Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course framework was formally signed off in late 2025, with full course development now well underway by our Clinical Education and Instructional Design teams.
The new PALS program represents a significant strategic investment in paediatric emergency education. Designed within a contemporary mixed-mode framework, the course integrates rigorous eLearning with practical face-to-face application, ensuring alignment with current evidence, national standards, and the realities of acute clinical practice.
We are now seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from experienced clinicians to support the finalisation of the PALS eLearning component. This is a valuable opportunity to help shape high‑quality paediatric educational material and contribute to improved learning outcomes for healthcare professionals across Australia.

About Resuscitation Australia’s PALS course
Resuscitation Australia’s PALS course has been developed to:
-
Equip healthcare professionals with advanced theoretical knowledge and clinical reasoning skills in paediatric deterioration and cardiac arrest
-
Strengthen early recognition, structured assessment, and evidence-based management of critically ill infants and children
-
Align explicitly with current Australian and New Zealand Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR) Guidelines and contemporary best practice
-
Reflect adult learning principles and cognitive load theory to enhance retention and clinical transferability
With the core PALS course framework signed off, we are entering an important phase of clinical content generation and independent third-party review.
